Bob Cafarella
The point man on the RMFS team, Bob has over four decades of experience in all phases of employee benefits. He began his career in 1964 in the group insurance department of Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company. Following a stint with an East Coast employee benefits consulting firm, he spent 13 years managing employee benefits worldwide for a Fortune 500 manufacturing company, designing and overseeing the development of 401(k) plans, medical, life and disability insurance programs and retirement plans. In 1993 he joined OhioHealth, where he spent the next 14 years managing all phases of employee benefits for the multi-million dollar Columbus, Ohio-based healthcare provider. Overseeing a benefits and human resources budget of $100 million, Bob guided the evolution of OhioHealth's benefits program to provide an array of new voluntary plans, implement new communications technologies, and better manage increasing healthcare costs. His tenure with OhioHealth was marked by efficiency, innovation and cost-effectiveness. Upon his retirement in 2007, he obtained his Ohio insurance license and joined RMFS, where he continues to assist OhioHealth with various projects.

Dick Guyer
Dick
brings a well-rounded resume of experience in insurance and financial services to the RMFS team. His career spans over 35 years and includes extensive work in the property and casualty insurance fields. He is an independent insurance agent and registered representative, as well as an independent property and casualty insurance agency owner. Focusing on services to both individuals and businesses, he has worked with a wide range of clients to help them protect their property and assets against destruction and losses due to crime and litigation, providing invaluable advice and offering an array of quality insurance programs. In his role as a certified financial planner, he has provided a full range of services to assist clients in accumulating, protecting and enjoying their financial assets. He is skilled at understanding client objectives and goals, and dedicated to providing solutions that are tailored to meet them. Active in business and civic organizations, Dick serves on the Alumni Board of Capital University and the Liberty Church Session Financial Chair. He also volunteers at both OSU East and Riverside hospitals, and is a member of the Guild Athletic Club.

Dick Birdsall
A veteran of the managed care movement, Dick played a key role in the development of Central Ohio's first Preferred Provider Network. He was involved from the start, recruiting and contracting hospitals and physicians to participate in the network, as well as negotiating provider fee schedules and hospital reimbursements. Dick worked with a number of insurance carriers to promote use of the PPO in Central Ohio and helped develop the sales force to market the new network through independent insurance agents. With the PPO up and running, he oversaw operations of the company, including sales, customer service and fiscal affairs. Dick also worked with a Central Ohio healthcare company to develop its own HMO. In addition to provider contracting and development of fee schedules, he was responsible for all document filing with the State of Ohio. To support the HMO, he built relationships with third party administrators and employer groups, facilitating the integration of managed care into existing employee benefit plans. His experience with employee benefits encompasses a wide array of insurance products: life, health, vision, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, auto, homeowner and legal. He has been deeply involved in the development and implementation of new employee benefit plans, frequently participating in employee meetings and benefit fairs. |
